Built-In Gas Fireplaces

A built-in gas fireplace is set into a wall, a feature wall or an existing fireplace opening, so the flames become part of your room. Our range has more than 30 models from SAFire, Signi Fires and Kratki, in single-sided, double-sided and three-sided designs, in sizes from 700mm to 2250mm. Most are flueless and need no chimney. The Kratki Leo range is closed-combustion with a sealed flue system, and its battery-powered remote means it does not need electricity. You can choose black or stainless steel finishes, with stones, pebbles, coal or ceramic logs, and many models come with remote control. Insert fireboxes can also be used to convert an existing wood fireplace.

Frequently asked questions:

• Do built-in gas fireplaces need a chimney? Flueless models need no chimney. The Kratki Leo models are closed-combustion units with a sealed coaxial flue pipe system.
• Can I install one in a bedroom or bathroom? No. Flueless gas fireplaces may not be installed in bedrooms or bathrooms, unless the unit has a chimney or a permanent (non-motorised) extraction system.
• Who must connect the gas? Gas connections must be done by a registered gas installer, in line with the manufacturer’s specifications and SANS regulations.
• Do flueless models need ventilation? Yes. Smaller rooms require appropriate ventilation, and fresh air must be able to reach the burner, so plan this into the surround.
• How do I choose the right size? Sizes run from 700mm to 2250mm, so measure your opening or wall space first. Contact us for detailed specification sheets on the different sizes.
• What is not included in the price? Product prices exclude delivery, parts and installation.
