Wall Mounted Fireplaces

A wall mounted fireplace hangs on the wall like a picture instead of standing on the floor, so it keeps floor space clear and puts the flame at eye level. This page brings together every gas and bio fuel fireplace we sell that mounts on a wall. To make it easy to tell them apart, every product name states its fuel: gas models have “Gas” in the name, and bio fuel models have “Bio Fuel”.

• Gas: wall-art, wall-hung and ledge models from SAFire, Signi Fires and Chad-O-Chef, in widths from 700mm to 1800mm, such as the Vision, Panorama, Canto and Chanterie WallArt, the Pureview and Emberglo Wall Art, the Lumin Wall Hung, the Elegance and the Emberglo 700. Most are flueless and need no chimney, a few are only 250mm deep, and some come with a remote control. They run on LPG, with natural gas quoted on request.
• Bio fuel: NovaFlame wall mount fireplaces in 900mm and 1200mm widths with black or white glass, and Signi Fires wall-mounted bio fuel fireplaces with black, white or brushed steel frames. They burn bioethanol, so they need no chimney, gas line or electricity.

Gas or bio fuel? A gas model gives real heat at the touch of a button and needs a gas supply. A bio fuel model needs no connections at all, so it can go almost anywhere, and is chosen mainly for its flame. Browse more: all gas fireplaces or all bio fuel fireplaces.

Frequently asked questions:

• Which wall mounted fireplace gives the most heat? Gas models give the most heat. Stated heating capacities include up to 420m³ for the 14kW Pureview and Emberglo Wall Art, 300m³ for the 12kW Emberglo 700 and 240 to 280m³ for the Vision. Bio fuel models are mainly for ambience.
• Does a wall mounted fireplace need a chimney? Flueless gas models and bio fuel models do not. Check the product page, as a few gas models connect to a flue.
• Can I put a wall mounted gas fireplace in a bedroom or bathroom? No. Flueless gas fireplaces may not be installed in bedrooms or bathrooms, unless the unit has a chimney or a permanent (non-motorised) extraction system. Several bio fuel models are described as suitable for bedrooms, so check the product page.
• Can any wall carry one? Check the model’s weight and dimensions on the product page, and make sure your wall can carry it. Bio fuel models fit on a non-combustible wall, and several gas models mount straight onto an existing wall with a simple bracket or two bolts.
• Who must connect a gas model? Gas connections must be done by a registered gas installer, in line with the manufacturer’s specifications and SANS regulations.

• What is not included in the price? Prices exclude delivery, flue pipes, parts and installation.
